Why I Started Campbell SALT Partners
I’ve spent more than fourteen years on both sides of the state and local tax relationship, inside corporate tax departments and in public accounting. From each seat, I kept noticing the same problem, just from a different angle.
Inside corporate tax teams, I watched capable people stretched too thin. Notices arrived faster than anyone could work through them. Projects piled up. And all the while, outside compliance firms kept pressing for more information, adding pressure to a team already at its limit. What followed was constant follow-up, mounting stress, and the feeling of always being a step behind.
From the public accounting side, I saw the mirror image. Accountants waited on information that arrived late, or arrived in a form that needed reworking before it could be used. As deadlines closed in, they ended up doing the work twice, once to fix what they received, and again to deliver on time. The frustration on both ends was real, and it almost always came down to the same thing: not enough time, and too much riding on the deadline.
That gap is why I founded Campbell SALT Partners. I wanted to be the person in the middle, someone who understands the full depth of a client’s situation, has the time to provide accurate information exactly when it’s needed, and keeps outside service providers on track so nothing slips through. Time is the one resource we can never get back, and the stress of a looming deadline is rarely worth what it costs a team.
My goal is simple: to lift that stress off my clients wherever I can, to strengthen the relationship between companies and their providers, and to bring more harmony and efficiency to a process that too often runs on friction.
And for new and growing businesses, state and local tax can feel especially overwhelming, sales tax, business tax, franchise tax, income tax, each with its own rules and requirements. I help make sense of it all, and put people at ease.
